On the 26th of February I deposited money to my husband and forgot to select "immediate" option. I then went to ABSA Atlasville to ask for assistance because I wanted the money to release the car the same day. The teller phoned EFT department and was told that there is nothing they can do which I understood. I then asked the teller if I can apply for overdraft or withdraw form my 32 days notice which I understand will charge me interest, she advised me to apply for overdraft since its only R69 monthly and did not mention initiation fee. I immediately app**** for R100 000 since I knew that I will bring it back before 12 hours elapses. I was then helped by a different lady who also did not mention monthly or initiation fee. the application was approved and I immediately saw R1270 initiation form on the form, I asked and was told that I can negotiate payment terms to the initiation fee, to my surprise I immediately received sms confirming deduction of R1270 and was told the even if I don't take money the transaction is gone I will still loose.
The following morning (27/02/2021) I went before 12 hours to settle and cancel overdraft, I then complained complained to supervisor/manager who cancelled the overdraft and promised to sort my initiation fee payment on Monday (01/03/2021), till today, (02/03/2021), he has not phoned. Yesterday instead I received another SMS of R46.02 Debit Interest and R190 of See Charge Statement which I don't remember doing. I am disappointed at ABSA cause I have been your client since 2005. I went and enquired at NEDBANK about their overdraft as well as FNB and was told that their overdraft is included in cheque account. I feel ****** by ABSA and today will go to ABSA to close my account and move to NEDBANK. I NEED MY MONEY BACK. ABSA IS ROBBING CLIENTS
