Absa not interested in client only themselves
My wife bought a Vehicle from a dealer in Boksburg in 2016 Aug. After she received delivery of the vehicle she discovered issues with the car that she brought under the attention of the dealer. 1. The car was tuned which was not discussed in the contract. 2. The cars alarm system was faulty 3. The gearbox was faulty 4. The engine light was on We have messages from 2016 that we tried to take the car back to the dealer and they never fixed the car. After endless issues with them we contacted absa which was the financier of the car. We felt at the time Absa was not very helpful as we had shared interest as we were indebted with R315 000 to absa but they could also not assist as they referred us back to the Zenros the dealer in Boksburg who sold the car to us. We then moved back to Cape Town after 3 months of the purchase of the vehicle so we could not take the car in which we did 5 times in the 3months and they never fixed anything. We then told them that we took the car to VW and the timing chain needs to be done. Have messages as proof. They just ignored the messages… we fixed the car then with the warranty only to find out that the warranty absa sold to us is in breach cause the has performance parts installed. However we explained that the was bought this way and showed the messages and email etc. Engine Technics then agreed to fix the car and we had to pay R10000. We got the car back and less then month the engine dropped a valve. Reported the matter to RMI they reported the matter the the ombudsman and the matter is still pending with them. We now explained this to absa still they said they have nothing to do with the condition of the car and they can’t help we are obligated to pay the car every month. In the time I lost my job and my wife was now transferred back to Cape Town which she received a 60% drop in her salary. She then called absa to make an arrangement they didn’t want to make any arrangement explained to them our situation they told her to give the car back if she can’t afford it. We then had to spend R40 000 to get the car fixed because the ombudsman was still pending and it’s still pending to date. The issue now is that in this time we have not paid the car for 5 months. Absa now has instructed an attorney to enforce the debt the attorney contacted my wife send a section 129 via the post office. They send someone to her parents house that gave a notice to a her sister not even in a envelope so now everyone saw her person info with absa. She told them she is only able to pay them R8000 a month which is R3000 more. they told her straight the not interested in technicalities. She told them that a tracer was at her work place this guy was also told the entire story he was also told her absa is not worried about stories he needs a arrangement and he needs pictures of the car which we gave him while the car was still broken.
We feel that Absa has not shared the interest of this assist with us they only covered themselves and wanted their money. They had to ensure that the dealers they deal with and provide in-house finance comply with the set rules in terms CPA. We really feel that Absa has violated our privacy by giving her personal info to someone else after we received the notice because if they had received a notice from the post office stating she did not fetch the notice by all means they could drop it by her at work but it should have been in person.
We have all our emails and communication with absa for arrangements etc…
Looking forward to hear from you.
