ABSA not complying to Reserve bank rules, or are they?

<p>On 18 January I've presented 2 x 5 cent coins to Highland SPAR in Witbank as part of my payment. The cashier refused to take the coins. According to her it was no longer manufactured, so they can't except it. I've tried to explain to her that any denomination remains legal tender as announced by the South African Reserve bank. The manager, Christie van Helsdingen, responded by telling me that ABSA Klipfontein branch, where their account is held, don't except the 5 cent coins anymore, hence their resistance.
