Absa no reponse regarding Chargeback 3 months later
I filed a chargeback 29Feb2019. Today is the 29th May 2019 it is 3 months to date and all I have received are two case numbers on the 28th of Feb 2019 and another on the 13th of May 2019 after I had received a reply that requested more info such as account and card number after i inquired again on the status of my chargeback again for the 4th time sine i had logged it 3 months ago. C- ********** 4 13May2019 C- ********** 3 28Feb2019
R 286 936,68 is not small change and i would of expected some sort of importance and feedback on this matter.

31 Oct 2024, 06:20After Absa ***** helped with the investigation into the matter to confirm if it was a syndicate and a **** they confirmed that yes this was a ******** Syndicate. However this was done after 4-5 months after I had filed the charge back, which left me thinking that maybe the charge back period had expired because it wasn't dealt with in time nor handled correctly. The answer i received was that ABSA wasn't going to refund me unfortunately because I had used the 3D Secured payment method and therefor they were not going to help me further.
Points
1. CHARGE BACK FILED end Feb 2019.
2. I Only got some sort of feedback here, after complaining two months later..(30May)
3. Chargeback requested same or day after payment was made to syndicate and I discovered that I had been caught in a Forex ****.
4. Absa ***** got involved about 5 to 6 months after completion of charge back forms. They then investigated which took more time only to confirm everything I said to be true and even acknowledged that yes they confirmed that it was a forex syndicate.
The chargback time frame window was/is 120 Days (180max) ?
So they failed to resolve the issue within the allowed time frame. And failed to protect me as a vulnerable person. And further exploited me failing to assist me more proficient and professionally.
I was told to approach the Banking Ombudsman.
As a person with cognitive dissonance/impairment it's very difficult to even just decide what color I want to paint a wall...
I feel they treated me unfairly and didn't comply with certain Regulations and or Protocols.
If they wish to re-engage and reevaluate the matter I would be happy to try resolve the matter before escalating it to Ombudsman, CPA and others.
