ABSA No-ActionLine

As a Private Banker client, ABSA promises the earth and that my private banker will assist in arranging any of my financial needs.

I needed vehicle finance so emailed my private banker to assist - no answer from him. I emailed him again, AND the general Private Banking help line - no answer from any of them I emailed them again on day 3, and get an automatic response from the general help line saying someone will contact me (Im still waiting!!) I get a reply from ABSA email servers saying no one by the name of my private banker works at ABSA !!

finally I resorted to arranging my own vehicle finance directly with AVF where a consultant by the names of Anastatia Nieman assisted me and was VERY helpful and efficient, and apologized profusely on behalf of ABSA private Banking. in fact it was Anastatia that managed to find out that my private banker had left the employ of ABSA and no new private banker had been allocated to take over my account. instead she put me in touch with Lizann who was my previous private bankers PA - who also confirmed that no new private banker had been allocated to me. as if this pathetic service from ABSA privat ebanking was not enough, I emailed ABSA Actionline to complain - as they like to encourage we use them directly and not embarrass ABSA by using Hellopeter - and after 4 days I get a reply from the Actionline simply asking for my ID number before they can assist me. USELESS !!

ABSA - your Private banking is an embarrassment to yourselves!
