ABSA needs to stop ripping people off

On Friday, 20th September 2019, My partner and I, increased our banking limites to accommodate international payments we would be doing.

We simultaneously made a large international transfer. The rate the bank gave us at the time of our transfers was USD14.92. The current rate at the time of the transfer was in fact USD14.80

Both our accounts were wide open with large bank withdrawal limits to accommodate these transfers and we could not lower these limits until the money left our accounts.

On Monday, 23rd, my partner received an email requesting where the money came from. We had left all relevant paperwork with our Financial Adviser who sent them proof of where money came from. They would not accept proof from a 3rd party. Once we were advised, we went to the bank on Wednesday with the paperwork. We had to listen to the lady who assisted us make the call to International section and have some lengthy banter with Piet on the other side of the line, while we were wasting time sitting there like fools.

We were assured that everything was in order and payment would go through.

About 15 to 30 minutes later we received notifications that payments had in fact gone through.

When payment went through, they had the audacity to change it to USD15.10 on my partners amount and USD15.11 on mine.

It was not our fault that they took so long to effect the payment!!!

Once again we get ********** by ABSA

So on the 27th September 2019, I supp**** Lebogang with the relevant information. To date, 4th October 2019, absolutely ZERO feedback from them. This is the typical ABSA employee behaviour.
