ABSA NDE No Service at all
I am still struggling with my late mothers estate, thanks to ABSA Trust and NDE. I have eventually managed to get all the authorized documents from Master of the Court in Pretoria for me to act as executor of the late estate. Took me a year to just find out how useless ABSA Trust is, I then did it myself. O and yes I am still waiting for my late mothers ID document from Melanie Bekker at ABSA Trust after several mails sent to her. I then opened a Late Estate account at ABSA for all the money to be consolidated for finalization. Money were deposited from FNB and Metropoliton Life within a week into this late estate account. Still waiting for ABSA money market to respond. I then received my first statement of the late estate account, guess what I could not open the statement. After several calls to ABSA I still cannot open the account statement. A request was sent to the ABSA technical team to assist. NO feedback either. Now I am facing ABSA NDE again to finalize the documentation submitted on 11 January 2022. All required documentation was submitted. Today is the 25th February 2022 and NO feedback from anyone. The case number at ABSA NDE is 2021/ 29820 or 2022/ 32416. Still not sure which one is the correct one, I did ask for confirmation on this as well. The ABSA people that was in my sent mail were as follow: Ndumiso Sibia, Taelo Motsumi, Lucy Masango, Karen Dhanraj, Annelize du Plessis. How is this possible that none of these people respond? Is this how ABSA conducts business these days? Or is this your new service delivery policy? What had to be a smooth transition after my late mothers death has become a nightmare for our family. Awaiting some response, hopefully some postive response.
Later that same day she responded to the case number and said that they will provide feedback on or before the 1st of March 2022.
On the 28th of February 2022 Kgaogelo Moloko responded from NDE requesting the following documentation from me, the executor of my late mother's estate:
-Letter of executorship as per DOJ (Master of the Court)
-My late mother's death certificate
-Proof of residence of executor
-Copy of executor (me) id
I think by this time all the above documents were submitted already three times. They keep on losing the documents it seems. But it was sent to ABSA NDE.
On the 1st of March 2022 I again received a response confirming that the management team are busy investigating and will respond on 1 March 2022, I then responded and told them to remember that today is already the 1st March 2022, not much time left.
Then received a response from ABSA group customer Care to confirm that feedback will be provided on 3 March 2022. Did not happen. I received a response from ABSA group customer car that they will respond on or before 7 March 2022 again.
On the 2nd of March 2022 I received a mail that the pdf documents sent by me could not be opened, I resend the documents again. They responded again and confirmed receiving the documents for processing and finalizing everything.
On the 3rd of March I had to resend my letter of authority, certified.
On the 4th of March 2022 I received a mail from Rezona Louw confirming the documentation received from me and was referred to NDE for finalization of the estate.
I then responded to Rezona asking what it is that ABSA must do to finalize my late mother's estate. I am really confused at this stage of ABSA'srole in this process to finalize my late mother's estate as I am the executor of her estate. I have a letter from ABSA confirming that they will not be the executors for this estate any more due to the fact that it is valued under R250 000.00. That is why I app**** for executorship at the Master of the court in Pretoria to become the executor of my late mothers estate. I did indeed succeed in doing so and is the the executor of the estate currently. So my question is, what does ABSA NDE have to do to finalize this estate? According to me, nothing. All I am asking for them is to close my mom's Absa money market account and transfer the money to the newly created estate account for ME to finalize this estate. This is by far the worst service I ever had in my lifetime. What a joke and they call it service........I do not want to hear the words "investigate" or "feedback" very soon, I want action I want things to happen. All I need is to get closure on my late mother's estate. Please no promises...I will not go along for another year with ABSA NDE as I had with ABSA TRUST last year. This is totally unacceptable. I hope that people following this story make sure that they do not have ABSA appointed as executor in their wills, if so good luck to you it is not going to be a joyride believe you me.
Can I please get promp response from ABSA senior or executive management, or must I address the CEO or Board of directors of ABSA to get this done.
Response would have been sent on or before the 8th of March 2022, This was today, did not happen.
If I do not get response I will refer this case to the Banking Ombudsman.
