Absa National Deceased Estates - Shocking!

My Mom passed away in Mei 2015. I am the Executor of her Estate. She had a small savings account and an Investment Account with ABSA. I struggled for almost a year with King Williams Town Magistrate court to have the matter finalised and to send me proof of Executor. I moved from Eastern Cape to Western Cape. After 3 visits to ABSA Swellendam, the last of which I was told to make an appointment with a Consultant to set up a Trust Account where monies will be paid into, I made arrangements and once again took time of work and travelled 40kms to Swellendam to meet Consultant, well armed with all necessary paperwork. He checked that all the paperwork was in order, scanned and emailed it all through to Head Office and gave me the Trust Account Number, all while I was sitting there.

I received an email from Head Office 3 weeks ago requesting all the documents to be forwarded via courier from ABSA in Swellendam to Head Office, all the same documents that was scanned by ABSA in Swellendam and forward to Head Office. Once again I take time off, go to Swellendam, have all documents re-certified, back to ABSA for them to forward the documents, this time in an envelope, hard copies.

I just phoned Head Office, now 2 weeks since it was forwarded to them, exactly as requested and I am told it's somewhere waiting for FICA. Come on, how long can it take to check the documents, all of which is legit, certified, stamped, signed the works.

Upon asking how much longer must I wait, I am told to phone back in a week.

A question here, how come ABSA Swellendam did not inform me that Head Office needs documents posted to them and not scanned. I was assured by Consultant that it would take 3 weeks for monies to be paid into the new Trust Account, it's now more than 2 months later.

Reviewer Update

In connection with my above complaint I would like to inform both ABSA and however is following this that the matter has been far from resolved. I received an email today requesting me to email all the documents to ABSA Deceased Estates again, this after it was emailed by an Consultant at ABSA Swellendam and according to the Deceased Estates Division was not acceptable. I then handed all the documents to ABSA Swellendam who sent it via courier to Head Office. I am further on todays email that the file has been sent for storage!!!! What on earth is happening, the matter has not been resolved, I have done everything possible from my side to provide all the documents on more than one occassion and monies are yet to be paid into the Trust Account opened at ABSA Swellendam. I am "moedeloos"
