Absa - misinformation - concealed charges - watch out

<p>In November last year i changed my Gold Account to a Prosperity account as i was told if I placed R15000 in a Depositor account at 5.7% I would pay no charges on my cheque account. Doing the maths that appeared to be a good move</p> <p>Lo and behold the charges kept appearing including an overdraft charge of R25 until I queried and was told in january that the Depostor limit had gone up to R20000 - so I increased the Depositior to R20000 and they paid back some of the charges</p> <p>BUT they were not finished - ASA suddenly they bumped my OD facility fee over 200% to R68.40 - no warning - and the charges keep being charged to the Prosperity account AND the charges statement does not reflect the charges on the account statement.</p> <p>If you do the maths - no longer worth it - will take the R20000 and place with Investec at +-8% - **** my ABSA OD facility - and go back to the seniors account.</p> <p>Misinformation - client gullability and shady deals by ABSA - watch out !! Maybe the ombudman is needed here</p>
