ABSA MANAGERS AND CONSULTANTS...SCARY TO DEAL WITH

received a call from the home loan collections department that we were short paid of R1.17. when my wife queried with the consultant, my wife advised that she must just debit the R1.17, in which we were asked to transfer the money and were advised of being put on the credit bureau, she said she will put notes on the system. I was uncertain of why we were short debited so I called in again on the same day and spoke to another consultant which she advised that there were no notes on the system. which is very annoying because why would we be told of the notes being made, and then no notes being made. if I didn't call in and we weren't debited, it would of been another issue against us as we would have to log a call to get the call between my wife and this consultant, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. when I spoke to this consultant she then advised me that the short payment was due to us changing from a due date debit order to a flexi debit order, and because now it was a totally different explanation I asked to speak to a manager in which they transferred me to ROCHE STRAUSS. He then gave me another explanation, but assured me that he will need to investigate first and see where the issue came from and informed me that he will not put the debit order through because if it was ABSA mistake they must take account for it. he advised me that he will come back before COB on the 22.02.2019. NO call was received from him, in which I had to call on the 23.02.2019 to follow up and he advised that he did not want to call me back as he was waiting for someone to come in before he can give me the feedback. I explained that out of courtesy he should call me anyway to advise he is still busy with it. he did call me and told me he will call me next week with feedback. on the 25.02.2019 we were debited the short payment after being advised that we will not be until this matter is resolved. which clearly he does not know what is happening there then. on the 01.03.2019 I still did not receive a call from him, so I had to phone him and phoned him the whole morning leaving messages and still he did not bother to come back to me. I phoned again on the 05.03.2019 and finally got his email address and had to send a nasty mail in order to actually get a response from Roche. in which he phoned telling me he is waiting on a statement from myself.(I said I will try and provide a statement, but he needs to check where the issue came from on their system).. I was then put through to Mrs Idensohn, which is probably the only person that actually knew what she was talking about and advised exactly where the issue came from and what the issue was.. as we advised from the word go, was not that we did not want to pay, our issue is where this came from that we short paid, as like anyone a proper explanation would be good, not two or three different explanation.

the issue did come from us, as confirmed but the staff(Consultant and MANAGER(ROCHE STRAUSS)) clearly do not know what they are doing, they do not stick to what they advised, do not know customer service. you wonder why someone sits in positions but does not know how to stick to words they made. ASBA staff should be properly trained from the bottom of the chain right to the top. if you as a manager promise to give someone feedback then you should give them feedback this is what makes a manager. these issues should be dealt with and made sure that if you want to hire managers and consultants, they should all be trained and not make promises that is not kept. the level of service I experience, from Personal loans and Home loans is terrible, and this was managers on both occasions that I had to deal with from two different departments. very scary.

this is the type of service that makes me want to leave being an ABSA client.
