Absa making money from Covid19 affected individuals and with creditors refusing to stop debit orders

Absa making money from Covid19 disaster refusing to suspend or cancel debit orders. Discovery claiming their hands are tied because they are a "debit order scheme." Momentum penalising me for trying to cancel my debit order. For seven months I have been back and forth between Absa and my creditors in particular Discovery Health and Momentum. I'm too exhausted to deal with Telkom. Since I have no income due to the nature of my work in hospitality and consulting, I have been trying to manage my debt by paying when I have money. To manage my current financial situation I have been trying unsuccessfully to take control of debit orders. Absa, my bank since the 1980 refuses my repeated requests to stop or suspend or honour the debit orders. Instead , their system allows creditors to simply change a reference number and repeatedly run the debit orders. Absa then charges R150.00 everytime the debit order is returned due to no funds. I have repeatedly for the last seven months explained, requested and even tried stopping the debit orders on the app. Absa refers me to Discovery and to my other creditors and the creditors refer me back to Absa. Discovery and Momentum say they are debit order schemes. Momentum... while willing to suspend my debit order penalised me be restarting my policy meaning, I now have to wait two years before any benefits kick in. Discovery... despite my cash payments for the last seven months have now informed me that they will review my situation. In the meantime Absa continues to cash in on my dire financial situation. As a consumer in the banking industry I have no control over my money. Large debit order scheme institutions and banks manipulate the disadvantages that many of us are suffering during this pandemic. We as consumers should have the final say about who may and may not debit money from our bank accounts.
