I did an on-line application for a credit card about a month ago. I was immediately told I was approved, pending required documentation - which I then submitted. A couple of days later I receive an e-mail stating they require proof of income, to which I re-submitted the bank statements.
Evenually I got to speak with a consultant who did not seem to understand how to deal with an application from a sole proprietor. After some discussion we agreed upon the required documentation which consisted of a signed letter from an accountant or tax pratcitioner, profit & loss statements, balance sheets and a detailed breakdown of income & expense - all of which to support the bank statements already received.
More than a week passed since I sent through the additional documentation with no word from the bank. I decided to call again and was told my application was still pending (something to do with Fica) but the lady said she would escalate the application and promised to call me as soon as she could find out what was going on. And guess what??! I receive yet another e-mail stating you require proof of income. WHAT THE HELL? What more information can I possibly supply?!

I am beginning to think that your consultants are either lazy, unable to think outside the scope of a standard aplication that requires the minimum effort to process or just not interested. Or perhaps you are just waiting for the "problem" to go away? Instead of sending vague e-mails, how about someone pulling finger AND ACTUALLY GIVING ME A CALL? Preferably someone who knows what they are doing?
