ABSA-lutely Bankrupt of Ethics: 14 Fee-Fleecing Flops in 14 Flashing Minutes – Refund me!

Title: ABSA Hit Me with 14 Charges in Minutes What’s new? SalesForce System Glitch, No Warning, No Help. Doesn’t Sound like “Africancity” to me.

Review: On 12 May 2025, ABSA deducted 14 “Insufficient Funds” fees of R10.00 each, all within minutes. That’s R140.00 in penalties caused by a misleading “available balance” and zero warning about the account going into “overline” status.

Worse yet: • ABSA’s system allowed POS transactions, implying funds were available • No notification was issued to say the account had entered “overline” status • When I tried to dispute it, I was hit with Salesforce system errors (see attached) • My complaint emails failed repeatedly due to technical malfunctions • I was met with indifference and incompetence by support staff

This is more than a glitch. It’s a systemic failure to protect clients and uphold basic transparency.

I demand: • Immediate refund of R140.00 • Explanation of the system fault, Salesforce errors, and overline status • Assurance that ABSA is held to the same standards it imposes on its clients

Stop hiding behind tech issues. Fix your systems
