ABSA lost control of my money

My problem started last week. I logged into my ABSA App and attempted to buy R1000 worth of electricity. The App said 'transaction failed', so I tried again. Again it failed. So at this point I bought my R1000 electricity by other means. I have my electricity for the whole month. Imagine my surprise when I see ABSA has subtracted R2000 from my account. So naturally I call the complaint office, and explain to them VERY CLEARLY what the problem is and what I need. I need my R2000 back, because I already have electricity. Fast forward almost a week and I get R2000 worth of electricity tokens, which I don't need. I'm so frustrated by this point. Why was this not a very simple process? The app said that the transaction failed. This makes it feel like ABSA is not in control of their own systems. I don't want my money to be with a bank that is not precise with it. I have been banking with ABSA since I was a child, but suddenly I find myself reconsidering.

Now my complaint has to go to the ombudsman. Another wait of 5-15 days for something that should have been immediately resolved. What if I really needed that money? My own bank, who I have supported for years , basically *****ed me over and I have to sit through bureaucratic hell to MAYBE get my own money back. I'm out.
