ABSA Looses EFT money made to incomplete Standard Bank Account Number

Have you ever pushed "Next" on a banking App and wished you didn't?

Well I mistakenly typed the branch code into the accound number field and pushed "Next".

The transaction was done and I was R1800 poorer.

ABSA's final correspondence on the case reference number ********** is that the money can not be found and it is my loss.

Disappointed!

Apologies for the late response. Feedback from Standard bank was that they are unable to reverse the funds

Reviewer Update

We had already been infromed that Standard bank was unable to reverse the funds.

This was because they were unable to track the funds because there was an invalid Standare Bank account number.

Please confirm that Absa paid the money over to Standard Bank.

Please confrim that Standard Bank received the money.
