ABSA loan R156.000 finance to 18 year old

ABSA vehicle finance, working in conjunction with Ford New car division in Cape Town approved 100% finance to my 18 year old stepson on a new Ford Figo (R125.000) PLUS 100% additional finance for the motor plan bringing the total amount loaned to my stepson if R156.000. This is about 120% loaned against the new car. This is irresponsible and reckless lending to an 18 year old without a credit history. Monthly costs with obligatory insurance come to over R4.000. His salary is on average R10.000 per month. Within 3 weeks of the purchase I contacted Ford & ABSA to inform them that they had forced my 18 year old into financial difficulties, and I propsed a way out allowing the almost new car to be taken back by Ford and resold with their permission. This would leave a R5.000 shortfall, with a full refund on the cost of the motor plan, which my stepson would pay. Now almost 3 months on, ABSA are dragging their feet, avoiding my emails and calls, resulting in my stepson being in financial difficulties. Why do ABSA not want to resolve the matter? Surely ABSA should be held accountable for their reckless behaviour.
