Absa living up to the name gapsa with there expensive bank charges

We opened an Absa account while we were still in the UK last year as it was one of the conditions to apply for a 30% bond. We got offered the gold bundle, but no option yet for a credit card as my husband only started working January 2023. Today we went to the bank to apply for the credit card, but we were told that the card is not part of the free gold bundle deal. We were charged R175 for the card and will also pay a monthly fee of R53 which should be included in the Absa gold account. Absa is one of the banks with the highest bank charges. Disgusting in the least to say!! We are still new Absa clients and it is still a new account even though we only qualified to apply for a credit card 4 months after being back in South Africa. I even asked the consultant whether we can open a new account and merge this one into that one and she had no answer as there was no option available to even offer that. We have a bond with Absa waiting to be registered, we have a Trusave account and a Future save for our son and I even have a dormant account. We have been Absa clients before we immigrated 4 years ago for all our lives and now after returning to SA, this is what we have to deal with. I feel this is utterly unfair. Absa should be more lenient to people returning to SA as in the end it is still our economy that gets boosted
