Absa life funeral policy.

I took out the Absa life funeral policy in 1999 with a premium of 30.70 per month. The total payout of the policy was R5000 for me and R5000 for my wife. I continued to pay the premium which increased every year with about 8.5%. I pay at the moment 130 per month. I did a calculation. If I invested the premiums that was paid per year I would have had R11,518.47 already saved. Obviously shocked I talked to the banked and I was advised that this is how this policy works. If I refuse to pay any further I will loose everything I already paid. If I continue to pay for another 5 years I would have paid R19,052.93 for a R5000 +R5000 = R10000.00 funeral policy. I think it is plain ***** and no-one seems to do anything about this. It is not fair, I can not even make it paid up as they do not accept it! I already paid the amount in what will be paid out when I die. This policy is outdated and needs urgent attention! I want answers!
