Absa life cover

Hello Peter ihave a problem with ABSA Bank my mother she was paying a life cover for me and my sister she left us last month but before she passed away she told us that she has a life cover with ABSA Bank my self and my sister we are beneficiary but I was surprised because my mother started to pay ABSA more than 20 years when my mom passed away ABSA payed us only R4900 each person and they told us that nothing we will get that all for my mother life cover can you please help to get what exactly happened there at ABSA about life cover
