Absa Is Withholding My Refund – R1451 Still Not Paid Back

I had a very frustrating experience booking a flight using the Absa Rewards discount on Lift Airlines via the Absa Banking App (last week Tuesday). The booking failed twice, yet R1451 was still deducted from my account.

After following up, I was told that Absa Rewards uses a different institution to process flight bookings, and that institution has already sent the refund. However, Absa has not authorised the refund on their side, and the money still appears as “uncleared” in my account.

I’ve called the bank multiple times, but the consultants have not been helpful. I was told to email [***](, which I did immediately, but I have received no response at all.

This delay is extremely disappointing, especially since this issue was not caused by me. I expect **Absa to resolve this matter urgently and release the R1451 that is owed to me.**
