Absa is refusing to close account after ******* debt orders

Worse service ever to think i let standard bank for this I recently attempted to close my account because of ******* debt orders when i went to the century city branch in cape town. I was told that a 1 rand needs to be cleared but i can open up a new account that i did.i contacted show max the people who was evidently the culprits I was told the 1 rand was cleared on there side i them went back to the bank i was told no it was not cleared i felt te a ping pong game was being played with me . I contacted show max again to be told they want a statement so they can investigate lo and behold my information was transferred to the new account and i had no access to the old account to pull a statement and the old card was destroyed I am at a loss what if the debt order goes off on the account again who bare the penalty for that. I feel that absa is deliberately doing this because the benefit from the bank charger for the bounced debt order.
