Absa is not a bank for elderly, shameful branch behaviour
How can you not have a priority queue for the elderly? We had to set up internet banking on my grandmother's bank account. The Bedford Centre branch manager insisted that she come to the branch. My grandmother is in high care at her retirement home and she is 83. When we arrived, she had to wait in the customer service line behind people half her age. By the time we were in the front, she was standing for almost 40min. She can't sit on any of the surfaces at the bank due to her condition, she has cancer in her bowel area. She has a special pillow and seating arrangement if she must sit. By the time we were helped, she was very weak and she feinted outside the branch due to exhaustion. How pathetic is it that you couldn't prioritise her need or organise for her to be served as soon as she walked into the branch. She has been a client for over 20 years. As a client of absa myself, I'm disgusted. You were lucky no journalist was in the mall or bank at that time because you would need to rebrand all over again. Shame on you and your systems. Need I quote M Ghandi in terms of what he said about the elderly and animals?
