ABSA refused to pay out my cousin's funeral cover because they failed to make the necessary changes of guardianship when my aunt died in 2021 even though we notified them and sent all the necessary documents. My cousin sister and I have been responsible for our other cousin since her mother passed away. Even when our cousin became bed ridden in December 2022 we were the ones looking after him.We are now sent from pillar to post trying to get the letter of estate which we cannot get because the court says we have different surnames from our cousin. The kicker is that we paid for this funeral cover after my aunt died (with our different surnames) and now we are being punished because someone at ABSA didn't do they're job!!
My question is, if I didn't pay for my cousin's funeral from my own pockets, will his body still be in the morgue??? Absa ****** us of the chance to grieve for our cousin, instead we are running around like headless chickens trying to correct their mistake!!!
I will take this matter to the ombudsman because I will not let Absa win!!! *****sters!!! Feeding off people's pain!!!!
I will strongly advise black people like me to take their business somewhere else because clearly Absa is too white for us blacks and they do not even understand our values!!!!
Best regards,
