Absa Internet Banking
Hi,

I would like an explanation from the ABSA Internet Banking Team for the ffg:

I sent money using the ABSA CashSend tool on the 25 June 2015. The transaction was done using internet banking. The limit which was stipulated whilst I was transacting was R1000 per CashSend. I did two CashSend transactions: one for R1000 and one for R400 (total R1400). The person I was sending the money to received the notification with the 10 digit pin and I sent them the password to access the money. And the money came off my account. However, when they went to collect the money, they received a print out slip with error 55 (Transaction not allowed). They went to enquire inside the bank & they were told that I should go to an ABSA Branch and cancel the transaction and re-send. I went to the ABSA Branch in Mowbray (Cape Town) and they told me that the reason why the amounts couldn't be withdrawn is because the limit on CashSend transactions via internet banking is R200!! And I have to wait for 30 days to receive my money?!?

I really want to know why the limit on the internet is deceivingly set at R1000? Why did the amounts come off my account if I was in breach of the limit clause?

Angry Customer
