ABSA Insurance Rected a Valid Claim

The roof for one of the houses at my property was damaged by storm. ABSA Insurance offered me insurance when I bought this property. When I submitted a claim for the damage, ABSA send two assessors. When one of the Assessors gave them the report and an indication of the cost, ABSA argued the cost with the Assessor. Instead of dealing with the cost issue, ABSA asked the assessor to start taking pictures of the whole house in order to find a reason to reject the claim. ABSA representative mentioned a number of issues that were fundamentally incorrect on the phone as a reason to reject the claim. The representative mentioned that the property is not occupied which was not correct, and claimed that the damage was caused by vandalism which again was incorrect. Even after I corrected ABSA still rejected the claim and refuse to give a valid reason. I spoke to the Assessor who told me that he told ABSA that the roof was indeed damaged by storm and it was in his report to ABSA. Why do we have to fight for this really? Why can't businesses be honest and true in their dealings? They are quick to offer insurance but find every reason to refuse to honour their obligations.
