ABSA Insurance - No Delegation of Authority to Life Partner

We recently moved over to ABSA insure as they gave us a better premium. The policy is on my partners name - we've been together for almost 20 years. Our previous insurer did not have a problem to provide me delegation of authority, but ABSA does! Really? Just because we are not married, it's a problem? Why? I'm in the process of purchasing a new vehicle, now my partner has to get the info required and pass it on to me, where I could have gotten it first hand if I was provided delegation. He is not always available to assist or phone to get info, where I am. Why is it such a big deal? Very disappointed!
