ABSA INSURANCE GEYSER CLAIM *****ULANTLY DUPLICATED BY ABSA
On 28 March 2018 my geyser burst I went to great lengths to contain the damage. I lodged a claim with ABSA insurance online. On 29 March the plumber arrived installed a new geyser, after repositioning it. I was told the electrician would come and connect. No one arrived, I tried contacting the insurer and plumber on Good Friday no response, on Saturday 31 March I got through to the plumber who assured me the electrician was appointed and notified on 29 March to attend to the job. I was told the same on Easter Monday. Eventually on 3 April in the afternoon, the electrician arrives. The Electrician is clearly not very experienced as they are Googling things and don't have insulation tape? Tuesday night @ 19h00 after 5 days without hot water there is still no hot water. I phone and phone no answer message them no response. On Wednesday 4 April after many calls the electrician arrives at 12h50 after promising to arrive at 09h00. Proceeds to blame plumber for no hot water - plumber comes back spends 1 hr and insists its the electrician. At 16h45 in frustration, I call my own electrician. On 5 April I email ABSA advising them that their electrician has not done the job and must not be paid. I telephonically relay this message too. After 2 months ABSA Insurance do not respond to mails. Eventually, Nomsa Yekwa Private Bank HOC Claims sends me a claim release under a different claim number - when I question this I am told the original claim was registered under the incorrect property. I request confirmation that the original claim is canceled no one comes back to me. I subsequently find out the *********** Electrician has been paid? Why after I specifically advised they did not do the work?
