Absa Insurance emptied my bank account!

My home content insurance is with Absa Insurance. Usually the debit order from my bank account is around R313 every month. On Saturday 31st of March however, they debited my account with more than R22 000! Of course leaving me with almost no money in my account. I'm still waiting for a response from them. (And of course my money.)

It has now transpired that the problem was with Absa Insurance's underwriter, Santam. Absa promised me a full refund. What a huge inconvenience, though.

Another person at Absa now alleges the problem lies with their administrator, Brolink. Who to believe. Still without my money.

Daphne, Absa is supposed busy clearing things up, but it is Thursday already, and my bank account is still almost empty. It is the beginning of the month, debit orders are coming through, and I have to pay bills. I can't imagine a big company treating a customer like this. You seem to be treating the problem very casually, while it is a huge crisis for me.

Latest: After not getting any apparent help from Absa Insurance, I contacted Brolink myself, and the money will now hopefully be paid back today.
