Absa Insurance - Correspondence non existent

Absa Building insurance...

A severe hail storm occurred on Tuesday 18 October 2022 @+- 15:00 – also reported on the news and information should be available from the south African weather service.

I have reported it to ABSA and included pictures etc of of the damage caused. Absa came back after I begged for a report on 14/11/2022. More than a month later. The claim was rejected. I have requested that ABSA send me the report from their assessor to which they agreed to, but never did. The reasons did not correspond to the evidence provided.

I have then gone further, and disputed as is the process prescribed by ABSA. Again I have provided all the evidence with photos. I have also provided a house plan with drawings of how the damaged occurred. Once again I had to beg for feedback where after an e-mail was send to me with that tells me a lack of maintenance. Again, in my opinion, they have not even reviewed the evidence that I provided, otherwise they would not have come with come with a different conclusion and what have seen that the reasons they are providing has nothing to do with the issue at hand.

I have again called absa and submitted another mail. I have send an e-mail and followed up with a call. ABSA confirming that I will have feedback before 7 December. I have not received any feedback to date. The phone was not answered on any occasion after that. I have also called the insurance call centre, after they have informed me that I need to speak to the person in the mail. After many more e-mails on phone calls, no answer, no correspondence.

I finally got hold of the lady on 10 January (on her cellphone - number appearing on her signature) confirming that the has never received an e-mail. The asked that I call back in 15min because the did not have her laptop with her (Calls should be available on ABSA security or service register as they always mention that it is recorded). I called and called. No answer for the rest of the day. The next day I got hold of her, and suddenly she saw all the mails that I have sent. Promising again that that she would send out correspondence again.

After 10 January, no calls answered, no correspondence!
