ABSA INSURANCE COMPANY IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED WITH THE INSURANCE OF YOUR HOME

BE WARNED: ABSA INSURANCE COMPANY is not reliable, use another Home Insurance company ABSA INSURANCE COMPANY (AIC) insured my house in 1990, and for 30 years I faithfully paid premiums on an insured amount calculated by AIC as the replacement value. When it was struck by lightning and burnt to the ground in January 2021, AIC refused to pay out the insured amount, and offered a mere third thereof, based on the quotation of their panel contractor, whilst ignoring two independent quotes which are in line with the insured value. After 7 months I appealed to OSTI, and yet no joy. I feel disappointed, cheated, frustrated by the Bank I have faithfully supported for more than 40 years.
