Absa Insurance Co's gross neglect

We had a theft on 11 March 2016 and filed with SAP with crime no 12March 2016 and reported to Absa 12 March 2016.

After lots of telephone calls to Absa Claims and requests for help from their actionline they acknowleged the claim on 31March 2016...this while the back door and security gate was broken DB Box and electrical fittings removed from house and borehole pump ******...no door no electricity no water.

Then Absa Claims spent 3 weeks sending contractors for quotes for repairs to house up to end April 2016 and then only did they send their assessor to the property...50 days after break-in and theft.

Then after many phonecalls and requests to the claims department and action line, we, on 14May 2016 received a rejection letter. This house had been standing open with no electricity or water for over 70 days ..yet Absa Insurance co...throughout this period continued deducting the monthly insurance cover of R 733.60 for insurance covet of R3 237 244.00 on the property...which they insisted on...although we had purchased the property from them after they had taken it back from the previous owner who was busy renovating it and could not make his payments. The house had not yet been completed...Absa held a retention back for total completion from the previous owner as well as building plans and the electricity certificate at Absa buildinginspectors office in Pretoria North.

When Absa took the property back from the previous owner and in the process of our purchase of said property Absa placed a guard there and used the electricity certificate to obtain electricity for the property on Absa name.

When we purchased they closed their building inspectors office in Pretoria North and advised us that we must collect the Building plans and electricity certificate from Absa Homeloans...throughout 17 years they could not produce this...we are stuck in this matter.

Now they reject this claim on untruths. And continue to leave us with a home we are unable to use due to the theft and break in and continue to deduct their rediculous insurance of R 733.60 per month for cover of R 3 237 244.00 .

We have, over a 17 year period , at all times had a live in guard on the property.

We have been clients of Absa for more than 50 years and never defaulted, and have never claimed. We are pensioners and this is our only property. We now have a home we can not live in as a result of the theft and Absa continues to deduct their rediculous insurance cover on a monthly basis. The cherry on the top is they are still neglecting to hand over the building plans and electricity certificate

Now at this stage of our lives we are being treated like this by ABSA BANK with their staff that clearly do not know how th do their job.

Do they really feel proud of this performance..can they really advertise like they are doing curretly.

Or is this just an act of rasism...
