ABSA insurance claim. Incompetence. Claim ***

I logged a claim with Absa insurance over 2 years ago for a burst geyser pipe. I logged the claim late as I thought I would handle the payments but then saw the damage that had been created by the water that I logged the claim. The claim went back and forth. They wouldn't contact me for months. They never sent an assessor. The person dealing with the claim Constanlty changed. Then one went on maternity leave and it made the experience even worse. Every time I pick up the phone I have to deal with someone new and then explain from the beginning. They eventually sent the assessor in November last year 2021. The claim was opened in Jan 2020. They rejected the claim saying the damage was old. I then complained saying OF COURSE IT WAS OLD. They sent the same assessor with the same outcome. They now still don't have a clue. I was promised 3 weeks ago a manager would call me and no one has.

I have had enough. I have about R40 000 worth of damage that they are making every excuse not to pay or even to listen.

DO NOT GET YOUR BIND OR HOME INSURANCE FROM THEM. THEY ARE ******.

I implore someone with some savvy working at that company to call me and actually sort this out. I have sent them everything they have asked for and they don't get back to me.

Shocking service from supposedly one of the best banks in the country.

I have every intention of taking my whole portfolio away from them.
