ABSA Insurance a joke

Absa property insurance is a joke.

We lodged a claim due to a damaged garage door. When this claim was lodged we stated that it is urgent due to the fact that we were unable to lock and secure the property. Absa ignored us and after two days and nights of leaving the house visibly open and subjecting us to all sorts of danger we had to get a contractor out just to attend to some urgent repairs to enable us to lock the house.

Only after this ordeal absa sent out an assessor. The assessor recommended the replacement of all garage doors (three doors in total) as the doors are old and identical doors are not available in trade any longer.

Just to learn that absa denied this claim and will only cover the replacement of one garage door. Thus, in effect absa wants us to sit with mismatched garage doors which will have a negative effect on the aesthetic value of the property.

Not impressed.
