Absa Insurance

I bought my house in July 2012 and insured it with Absa. The house inside started cracking and as maintenance on a house is an ongoing process we filled the cracks and painted. Then the ceiling boards started to pull away from the walls and a massive crack appeared in the one bathroom. We decided to get some builders in for advice and they said that we should contact our insurance, which we did. After lodging a complaint with Absa (and after calling them twice as we could not provide the exact date of when we saw the problem) they sent out a woman, that apparently knows more than the builders we got out to the house, as she decided that everything wrong in our house is cosmetic. Also Absa insurance only pays out in the case of a cyclone. So, then why do they take the money for our insurance if this is the case? After getting in more opinions from professional people(Absa do not waste money on professionals) we will now get in contact with the Ombudsman and also lay a complaint with the NCR.
