ABSA INSURANCE

On the 12 January 2018, most of my mother's house roof was severely damaged by a tornado. She contacted ABSA Insurance claim. An assessor came and valued the damage of R20000. A second assessor came, Riaan, and barely looked at the damage and stated there is no way they will be fixing the roof as the claim is to high. He will only pay for the ceilings. He was very rude towards her. My mom is elderly, and frail. When it rains she runs around emptying buckets of water. She has sold the little shares she had to try and raise the money for the roof. They have now come back and said they will only fix a small section of the roof due to costs. My mom pays R744.00, monthly, and have been paying her premiums for many years. ABSA BANK INSURANCE is quick to take the full amount due, but when it comes to rendering the service that is being paid for, they renegade on the commitments. ABSA sponsors all sorts of sports, TV programmes with their clients money, but when their clients want the service for which they are paying, then it seems to be a problem.

I take it you are going to contact me for all my mom's details. Tsepo the first assessor was wonderful and did his job well. Riaan on the other hand was rude and arrogant.

ABSA has responded to my complaint and are working hard to resolve the situation. They have been very professional. Much appreciated.
