ABSA *****ing our money for moving our home loan away from them

This bank is probably the most useless bank in SA. Not only did they take months to release our building finance on our home loan, we effectively ended up having to pay for our renovations cash and months after completion only get money released. As a result we promptly gave the 90 day cancellation notice, mail was sent on 7 December 2023, with penalty period expiring 6 March 2024. We were advised this notice would be valid for 12 months. Now that we are moving the home loan away, instruction with transfer attorneys, ABSA is charging us R92,000 in penalties, WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN WAIVED AS IT IS PASS THE 90 DAY CANCELLATION PERIOD!! I am going to make a point of it to make sure I can help as many people as possible become aware of your ********* practices via any platform available to me and move to another bank
