ABSA ignores clients during KZN disaster

I was badly affected by the KZN floods and needed assistance from my bank as I have the ABSA Full Comprehensive Home Cover. As we know KZN was declared a disaster zone. Over the Easter weekend I tried to get hold of the ABSA claims department to arrange accommodation and check up on the progress of my claim, to my surprise the department was closed and a pre-recorded message stated that they will open on Tuesday (19/04/2022). This is very disappointing because in my policy they claim to offer 24 hours assistance. How can ABSA just leave there clients in a time of need and close the claims department? This is unacceptable and very poor planning by ABSA.
