Absa Idirect Recovery agent lying to rep a claim
On the 21st of June 2015, my vehicle was damaged by a motorised gate at my sister-in-law's home. I obtained an OB number from the SAPS. She registered a claim at Absa with claim number ***. I contacted David Mathye on the 08th of July 2015 to proceed with my claim against their insured's policy. David Mathye confirmed that they will not be liable for damages, as we are family of their insured. I confirmed that we do not reside at the same address, therefor my damages will be covered by their policy. He sent me a quote from their policy wording confirming same. I requested the electronic policy wording in order to investigate, as this is the first time I have heard that family members, NOT residing together, cannot claim against each other. David Mathye refused to send the document to me. I obtained the policy wording myself, and confirmed that David Mathye was indeed lying, as the policy states: Point 5, Legal Responsibility to others - What we will cover you for
