ABSA I-Direct Slogan = We're there for you and Peace of Mind

Just before December 2016 we recieve a letter from ABSA I-Direct stating that we are high risk customers and that they no longer can insure us. Now let me provide some feedback on our claims over the last 10 years.

We had the following claims.

June 2010 - Highjacked and goods in car also missing. Vehicle found three months later in another attempted business ******* in Randfontein. 2 Claims, 1 for Car and 2 for goods missing inside vehicle

March 2011 - A lady drove into the back of our vehicle.

December 2011 - Lightning strikes the house blowing the gate motor, garage motor, intercom, elektric fence energizer and damaged wiring inside the house. 2 seperate claims according to list sent to us.

September 2012 - Weather related claim. Damages

December 2013 - While driving on the highway back from Nelspruit some idiot through a stone through the front window. Therefor a claim for the window.

December 2013 - Hail damage. Weather related.

July 2014 - Accident. We drove into another person.

June 2016 - Wifes wedding ring ******/lost. We are not sure whether it was ****** or we lost it.

November 2011 - Weather elated claim.

January 2016 - Cell phone damaged. Our fault. Accidently dropped the phone

June 2016 - Phone dropped again. Our fault.

So in summary.

Over ten years we had 13 claims.

3 Was directly our fault which we accept.

9 Claims were due to either weather, theft and accident which we could not prevent.

1 We not sure whether the ring was ****** or lost.

Please ABSA explain to me how am I considered high risk when 9 out of 13 claims was as a result of the high crime levels in this country and weather that is out of my control. It's abo****ely disgracefull the way in which this situation has been handelled. For 10 years we did not skip or miss one premuim yet we get cancelled.

Exchange rate fixing? I don't know but what I do know, is that it,s scary to think the way customers get treated after 10 years for things that aren't even theri faulft. Hoping that they can turn to a trusted insurer just to be dropped like a bag of patatoes.
