Absa Homeowners comprehensive insurance dishonoring legitimate claim of policy number ***

Im sharing this story with all ABSA Home Owners Insurance Policy Holders. Pls be aware that ABSA HOC will find every ridiculous reason not to honor the claims of their clients. On the 21 May 2025 a severe storm with strong winds struck the Bluff area in Durban. My husband was opening up the garage door to drive to work. As he opened the door the strong winds pressed hard against the door bending the arm that picks up and lowers the garage door. As a result the bent arm caused the door to crease and crack, damaging it. My husband called ABSA and laid the claim. ABSA sent out 2 construction companies who came out to quote on the.damages, take note not an ABSA assessor but construction companies to take pictures of the damages and quote on repairing it. ABSA being as devious and ********* used these pictures to reject the claim, sighting that the garage motor caused the damage and not the strong winds of the storm. My husband sent further pictures of the working garage motor which ABSA had said malfunctioned and pictures of the damaged door as proof and assured them the he personally watched in horror as the strong winds damaged the door in front of his eyes. However his integrity and honesty as well as proof that the garage motor works perfectly did not suffice for ABSA they still declined wanting my husband to go out at his own cost and get proof that the winds caused the damage and not the garage motor. My husband asked ABSA to pls furnish a report from the so called assesor that they allude to have assessed the property and not the construction company that quoted on the repairs, to this effect ABSA refused to show this report, yet the outcome of that so called assesor report has a direct bearing on our claim. My husband asked to pls send the policy documents that highlight ABSA cannot make this assessor report available to the clients whom their claims they are rejecting, since then no policy has been sent and highlighted as such, but ABSA continues to uphold the rejection on our claim. My husband and i are of the opnion that ABSA has no intention whatsoever to honor the claim and will frustrate their clients to a point that their clients will give up on claiming.
