ABSA Homeloans COVID 19 Payment Holiday Trickery

I took up the offer for Covid19 debt relief effective May 2020 . I was shocked when 24August I recejved a statement indicating almost R100 000 increase in my balance from where it was before the 3months break, of a total of R15 000 worth of instalments frozen. This is like 300% x what I could have paid for the 90dys. Why the lack of transparency? Why not do all the calculations and provide clients with full details for them to make an informed decision? Is this business or trickery?Had this been put upfront I would have taken other extreme measures that would cost me much less overtime. So, in the end, the so called relief.. turns out to be a *******. With a history of other nasty dishonest experiences with Absa that led to us moving our home insurance, subscribed to for over a decade but all claims declined. it feels like an under estimation of what the bank is capable of.i regret the day I set foot at Absa, am keeping it on my blacklist and would never recommend it to my worst enemy. The statement also has errors in details on years remaining, one wonders if even the calculations are anything to go by!
