ABSA Home Structural Insurance

We just suffered two burst pipes, one in our dining room underneath the tiles through the wall and the main one in my driveway where we had a LOSS of 101kl {101,000litres of water over a 12 day period}. We obviously reported this immediately to ABSA after the Municipality coming to check if the water meter was perhaps malfunctioning, on their inspection it was determined that there was a pipe inside my property that was leaking, being in a critical drought here in the Western Cape we handled this as a desperate situation

The Plumber was duly appointed and after a week of seeking for “both the pipes” the broken pipes were eventually found and repaired, a clause under the insurance also dictates that if “another” holed pipe is more than a metre and a half away from the first one found you are then liable to pay another excess which I had to do ….. Found this rather amusing as a water leak is a water leak constituting water loss be it from one pipe or five?

My question is here, albeit the repairs of the burst pipes were paid for by ABSA why not the extreme water loss which now leaves me in having two HUGE water accounts from the Municipality, insurance is supposed to cover LOSS however I have has the "blunt" response from ABSA that the water that was lost due to the burst pipes in my home will not be covered??????
