Absa Home loan disaster
We bought our house at absa 2007 for R210000. We could only qualify for R200000 so they made our home loan for 30 years. We also never got that first time home loan discount. In 2014 we went under debt review so that we could not lose the house. A court order was granted. The debt review company we paid closed down and transferred us to another debt review company. Which we never made any payment to cause we only had the bond and paid directly in the bank account whatever absa said is our instalment.
On the 26 June 2025 hubby saw on his phone msg from absa we defaulted on our account which we never did. Hubby has been calling absa they keep transferring us. Until we went to the branch to get 3 months bank statement which showed we not in arrears. We also received a statement from absa saying that our new installment gonna be 1 July which is R2966.26 But over the phone 26 June they said we need to pay R10067. which I feel is unfair with a 3 days notice. That's when we made payment of R6000 and than account went into arrears but that was only 3day notice to pay that R10067.53. only on the 16 July they send us new home loan statement of R10067.53. As a client from absa i feel they should have give us more time and if we never defaulted how come new amount is that much? Its like they want us to lose our house after paying 18 years already. The stress they cause hubby is unreal and he is a heart patient
