Absa Home Loan Department please assist

Good day

It's amazing in this day and age of technology that one still need to go into the bank to get ensure a query gets sorted. I recently finished paying my bond and forgot to remove the stop order from my bank account. I went into a credit balance on my bond account and had to go into the bank to get the credit back. It simply couldn't be reversed by me making a simple phonecall to the homeloan department. To further frustrate me, the credit was refunded by means of a paper cheque. I couldn't remember when last I've seen a paper cheque. I was advised on several occasions through my conversations with consultants from the homeloan department that I can leave the account open on a zero balance and I won't incur any fees. To my surprise I now receive statements from the bank that I'm owing on the bond account. No with the interest rate cut, I received notification from the bank to that effect and on the notification I see that I have an outstanding balance on my account. I decided to phone in to try and understand where the balance came from as I was on zero balance. I was given a reference number and told there's a 48-hour turn around time. I'm now waiting 72-hours and counting. I guess it's up to me to call again to follow up, no one from the bank will call me.

This is the poor service we have to put up with these days
