Absa Home Insurance , Ronelle Gordon and the horrible service and blatant lies

A few weeks back we filed a claim , on our home insurance. Which was taken up with ABSA almost decades ago.

We have been having an ongoing issue with the roof which leaks during the winter. After persuading my mother that she should claim.

We filed after days an assesor from DJK investment came to asess the roof. Mind you they only alerted us to their arrival 2 hours before.

After a little more than a week I contacted Absa to find out what the outcomes of our claims were, I was told it had been rejected. After which I requested the reasons in the form of the full report sent by DJK Investments. I was told I had no right to the full report, after a time of back and forth with Jane Rameila then Ronelle Gordon I was told I had no right to the report because it had the fees the assesor charges them. After I explained that was not our fault and we were entitled to the report, did Ronelle Gordon the HOC claims manager at ABSA I was told that I would recieve the full report at close of business Friday the 9th of September. Latest. I have yet to recieve the full report. I was clear as to the findings could be sent in the meantime and the report sent after.

That same day I contacted the people at DJK Investment. Who informed me that they had recieved the request to resend the report without the fees. they also informed me that the roof which they said is sagging , was sagging because of people walking on the roof. I asked if anything could cause the sagging they said maybe rocks being thrown.... I then asked since they had been on the roof why were they sure that the footsteps did not come from them their answer was haphazard. They said there was sign of aging etc.

That same day the second assesor from Executive Assesor arrived. His first question to me was who had been on the roof , I explained to him that as far as I knew it was people from ABSA. I found it strange that he would ask me this as this was what the first assesors main reason for rejection is. It did not surprise me then when he came back stating a different reason as to why the roof is lagging. He also felt the need to tell me he could do the job for quiet cheap.

I wrote to the official twitter account. All I got was an apology and no action. I then tried to contact Ronelle Gordon who I was told would contact me 4 hours later she still has not contacted me. I have not recieved any report or rejection letter so we can file a complaint with the Ombudsman for Short Term Insurance. I had to call myself to find out the progress on the second assessors findings. No surprises the claim was rejected no surprises as the gentleman from Executive Assesor (the Assesor ABSA sent left us with his business card)

It is my belief that they are trying to frustrate and delay the process so that we have to fix the roof ourselves. That roof is ready implode. ABSA is being ********* and their staff is not even assisting us with the documents they have to supply us with. We have to initiate and even when we do we are not given the necessary documents.
