ABSA home insurance AGAIN fails to respond - Useless service delivery

I reported a leaking geyser and leaking/dripping through the ceiling of the property on Monday, 15 July. You sent a Mr Ndlovu of Alchemy to assess the damages. He organised to install the geyser on Tuesday, 16 July. He arrived late for his appointment…. Once he arrived at around 6pm, he informed us that it will take maximum 2 – 2.5 hours - He worked until 11:40 pm… that after the lady on the premises requested him several times to please come back the following day – he insisted that it will be quick and that he will be done just now….. this is totally unacceptable. In the meanwhile as he just started the job, he pushed the ABSA feedback form from the client to evaluate his work, in front of me to complete – I left one of the questions unmarked since at that time he has not completed the job…. So please check on the forms he is submitting if that is the case, since Ive experienced a guy that is truly not that honest. 1 – he complained that the trap door is too small and that the geyser won’t fit. So I agreed that the geyser can be installed on the outside instead of inside the roof and paying him extra money for installing it outside. Should he not have quoted you for doing the installation outside since the trapdoor is too small job? On his first inspection to do the job, he must have noticed the problem… not complaining afterwards and informing me about his problem with the too small trap door…?? 2 – on Tuesday, 16 April, he cutted an existing electrical wire that serviced a plug in the kitchen to connect the geyser he installed outside (no existing geyser wiring available since it is a new spot) promising to be back on Wednesday, 17 July. This wire he cutted and used for the newly installed geyser, was running from a normal plug trip switch instead of the geyser trip switch in the db – in this case he now made an incorrect connection for the geyser and by doing this, he disconnected the lady’s plug to her kitchen. Though on his whatsapp message he informed me on 17 July that the geyser installation was complete…. And that he must only add an all weather box. He informed me that “Builders” (warehouse?) told him that he can get the box from them on Thurday and he will then install it…… Friday afternoon around 4pm, 19 July I started calling him since he never contacted us on Thursday to return to finish the job or to explain his schedule and he ignored my calls… he later responded and whatsapped me that he will get back to me within an hour… nothing…. …. I had to get hold of him through your absa offices – *** and his excuses were feeble. . He promised during our telephone conversation to look for the “all weather box” on Saturday – I had to contact him on Saturday afternoon again because he did not give any feedback.. (whatsapp) He then promised to get to the house on Monday to finish the installation… Monday morning I sent him a message to remind him to liaise with the lady tenant on the premises for access.. I had to contact him at the end of day 16h52 since no contact was made by your plumber/contractor throughout Monday, 22 July. At 21h31 he notified me that the his team just arrived and that they will do the installation first thing in the morning (without liaising with the tenant at this time…. This caused the whole operation to be moved to 2pm on Wednesday, 24 July. The tenant took leave for the afternoon of 24 July, to wait for the contractor. He notified her at 13h22 that he was going to be late 30 – 45 minutes….. I tried calling him, sms and whatsapped him between 14:30-14:45…. Not answering any phone calls or messages.. At 4pm he notified me via whatsapp that they are “now on our way” from Fauna in Bloem fontein to Gardeniapark… it took them almost an hour since they only arrived 16h52 at the premises… He had to install 2 small boxes (all weather and safety switch box) and connect the wires this afternoon (24 July) – it took him 2 hours……Totally unprofessional and really not a person to be recommended for the jobs he is asking you a lot of money for. They also left all their empty packaging and plastics all over the place after their first visit/installation to the premises on Tuesday, 16 July ….. NO!!! I would like this Mr Ndlovu from this Alchemy company, to produce his certificate of compliance for the installation of geysers and doing electrical work. On the premises I organised for someone to come and assist, 24 July, and that person, who studied electrical engineering, was shocked with your contractors little knowledge of doing the job…. So please… can we as the customers please be assured that this guy is fit for the job.. NEVER EVER send this person to me for any claim ever again – Ive never experienced such utter poor services. Im going to pay a qualified electrician and plumber to inspect your contractor’s work and if it will not pass the COC, I will then contact your offices to please fix. How do you select people that is so unprofessional, poorly trained on your jobs? I would also like to know what happened to the ceiling damage myself and he reported? When is this going to be fixed? And please – your people in the offices of *** – if you say you are going to call back…. Do it… you never called me back… why? Please ensure that you send competent plumbers that behave in a professional way. I am really disappointed in this guy’s work performance…. Taking hours for a small job, not being on time and not communicating to the client. I am awaiting your urgent feedback.
