ABSA HOME (BUILDING) LOANS - DON'T GO THERE!!

I would like to warn everyone considering to make use of ABSA home loans (for a building project) to embrace yourself and prepare for a huge amount of frustration!! Firstly, their personnel - from day one - didn't give the correct advice and as the process progressed you as the customer need to discover and figure out their steps and "way of work". Secondly, don't ever think that ABSA is your "partner" when is comes to a building loan. They will advertise that their team of expert will assist you throughout the building process, BUT THIS IS A BLATANT LIE!! They believe that they are doing this for themselves and that it is their own building project. I also firmly believe that the staff doesn't have a clue of a building project. This is also why they are so strongly relying on the services of a QS, a "007 Secret Agent"! The QS valuator - who assesses progress on your building site - is a taboe, and you as a client may not even talk to him!! His progress reports are "secret" and NOT for client to view; whilst this is the holy grail on which progress payments are calculated AND not your own project plan which initially ABSA said would be fine. The fact that one is paying for the services of the QS (valuator) doesn't give you any access to the outcome of his services. I had so many fights to amend the QS's progress template to suit my project's action steps / project plan. Eventually when succeeding in this, ABSA refuses that I may directly communicate with the valuator....and the valuator refuses to provide me with these progress reports since it's a "confidential" document belonging to ABSA. I have asked ABSA numerously to provide me with the progress report so that I can trace whose progress on the building site have been included in the payment, so that I can divide the progress payment and pay the various contractors what they deserve. Now I sit with a huge amount of money and I don't know who to pay with it..... Is this a "partner" in your building journey!? Note that your emails are being ignored, your phone calls are not answered and it doesn't even help you to copy ABSA managers in your e-mails! ABSA AND IT'S STAFF REALLY DON'T GIVE A DAMN!!!!! I have tried to build a positive relationship with ABSA staff but please be aware that this helps you ZERO!! They always have a personal crisis somewhere, are in a meeting, are on leave or will get back to you...! The staff even ignores emails from their seniors!? I can go on and on and on....but I know even this will not help me! I only need to pray that the building project will end soon! PLEASE - IF YOU WANT TO SPARE YOURSELF SOME TIME AND FRUSTRATION - NEVER EVER MAKE USE OF ABSA HOME LOANS FOR A BUILDING LOAN.
