Absa has terrible customer service.

Absa contacted my wife last month to enquire whether she will be interested in an Absa credit card, which she duly accepted. The card was set o be delivered on the 31st of January by CCD. It eventually was delivered on the 2nd of February. Since then she has been trying to get it activated. I eventually uploaded a copy of her ID and proof of residence over the weekend on her online banking. It seems they have lost it, otherwise why do they require it again? Still nothing.

She has been phoning them for two weeks and every time she is told it will be activated within 24 hours. On her online banking it shows she is in a debit of R160.00 but a balance of R0.00. So this seems to be just an Absa sacm of some sort.

A follow up. My wife called Absa again and they asked for proof or residence and a copy of her ID once again. This isafter I uploaded it on her online banking profile over the weekend. What a joke. Till now they have not even bothered to respond to my original post on hellopeter. Looks like Absa is a shambles.

So it is a day later and guess what? Still marking time. How long does it take to look at an ID Document and a Telkom account? Absa used the wrong residential address for FICA purposes. All we have at this stage is Absa's Official business reply on hellopeter. I am sure it is in any case computer generated as the wording is exactly the same on all the replies. If it takes Absa's computer system 3 hours to generate a reply I am sure we will not hear from a human being before 2018.

Now they lost my wife's payslips that she had given to the courier. It just gets better and better.

On ABSA's facebook page it says they respond withing an hour. Not happening. It seems nothing is being done about this apart from their bot posting once a day on this.

So do you not even care to resolve this issue? Well done. You will NOT be getting my vote for anything any time soon.

Think it is high time to close this matter. Pity one can't give less than one star.
