ABSA has money to waste and harass their clients at the same time.

I need to find out why ABSA is sending me SMS's every day when my account is over drawn? I have contacted them directly and on facebook and nothing seems to help. I noticed in about November last year when my account was over drawn I started getting sms's every single day to tell me that my account is over drawn and that I should settle it up.

I am not sure why ABSA has started doing this, because I have never received these sms's before when my account was over drawn. It is beyond annoying to the point that I am now seriously thinking of changing banks. I dont know why ABSA feel it necessary to sms me EVERY DAMN DAY, when there is nothing I can do until pay day.

I have been a loyal ABSA client for over 10 years, they should know my history. Yet now I get harassed every day until payday to let me know that my account is over drawn. If they sent the message once, fine, I can handle that, but every day!!!!! WHY!!!! Does ABSA really make so much money from bank charges that they can waste it on stupid annoying sms's.

Flip, its going to be sad to leave ABSA after all these years, but I think these harassing sms's might just be the straw that breaks the camels back and gives me that push to move to FNB.

Dear Customer

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Kindly provide us with your account/ID number to log a formal complaint for investigation. Also use the private reply for me to see the details. We will investigate the matter and furnish feedback shortly.

However accounts are monitored on a daily basis and if there are outstanding fees the customer will be notified until such time the account is up to date. It is the process collections have to follow to avoid customer's outstanding amount listed as a default on credit bureau.

Kind regards
