ABSA has a don't care attitude and don't own up to their mistakes.

I have been paying off my ABSA debt without skipping any payments for the last five years and now ABSA tells me that the outstanding amounts are higher than what it was five years ago. I never skipped a single installment and all my emails and phone calls amounted to nothing . ABSA is now threatening me with legal action and none of their staff cares enough to investigate and they do not even want to give me the statements for the last five years, nor any explanations, instead they threaten with legal letters.

Opening Balance on my personal loan in 2011 was R48,100.99 - ABSA claims I still owe R47,000.00;

Opening Balance on my credit card in 2011 was R33,052.99 - ABSA now claims that I still owe R32,116.17;

Opening Balance on my Virgin money credit card in 2011 was R14,281.86, ABSA now claims that I still owe R17, 000.

It appears as if they have capitalised the outstanding interest five years ago and that they have been charging me penalties and interest on top of the capitilised interest. Strangely enough though, they have not made the same mistakes with my Bond, Car, nor cheque account. Their inconsistency and the logic is so obvious and yet the people I talked to did not even know what capitilising meant and refused to put me through to a senior as they insisted that they I should email them and all those emails have not amounted to anything.
